This circus themed party was a very nice idea for a first birthday party! Little Sejal and her friends had such a nice time with the circus decorations and colourful party.

We were very lucky with the weather on the weekend of the party, as it had been raining almost the whole week and suddenly on the weekend the rain stopped and we could have the party outdoors.

I created some handmade custom decorations such as the party hats, the washi tape decorated tableware and the animal jars favours, if you want to learn how to do these decorations on your own you can find the DIY tutorials at the blog.

Red, blue, white and yellow where the main colours for this circus theme, I liked the mix of stripes and polka dots on the table setting and the red stripes backdrop.

For the party there were also some cupcakes, popcorn, peanuts, iced cookies, marshmallow skewers and cotton candy. However the cotton candy was melting very fast as the weather was quite humid, so it was not looking fluffly anymore after a few minutes 😦

I created also a toss the cans game upcycling some dog food cans and decorating them with washi tape, you will be able to see the DIY tutorial on the blog as well.

I have to say that one of the things that I liked the most about this party, was the beautiful circus cake created by Cake Couture, the cake was such a beautiful creation and it tasted delicious! One layer was rasberry, another one chocolate and the last one pistaccio!!

Finally the guests could take home two beautiful types of favors: a bag with homemade animal cookies and animal lid jar with candies.
